From The Australian, Melbourne’s first apple orchard, opened in January 2018, and has already received a number of accolades.
The site’s website, which lists the names of “the best apple orchards in Australia”, includes an award-winning recipe that is currently being posted to the site.
Here’s how the orchard’s owners describe the recipe: “Our apples are picked, skinned, dried and ground.
We then place the resulting apples in a container and store them in the orchard’s refrigerated cellar.”
The site also lists the “top five best apple cider orcharding states” in Australia, which include the Gold Coast and the Sunshine Coast.
It also lists “top 50 best apple wine regions” and “top 100 best apple blenders” in the Sunshine State.
The orchard sells apples and apple-based desserts like pies, pies and apple pancakes, but the main focus of the site is on “desserts with apples”, including fruit-based drinks like lemonade, orangeade, and apple cider.
One recipe on the site lists “apple cake” with a custard base, which is a dish that can be made using apples or applesauce.
Apple orchison recipe: 1 cup applesauces 2 tbsp lemon juice 2 tbsp cider 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar 1 tbsp orange juice 1 tbsp honey 1 tbsp agave syrup (or agave nectar) 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional) Combine all ingredients and pour into a pan.
Cook at 350°C for about 40 minutes.
